What is your role within the company?

I am a Full Stack Software Developer.

What do you like most about working for Intellicore?

I enjoy the flexibility provided to me. I typically work a 4day, 10 hour schedule, allowing me more freedom to learn new skills andcomplete household tasks on the freed up day without task switching.

What first attracted you to your area of expertise?

I love development because it's like solving puzzles.Creating something from scratch and constantly learning in the ever-evolvingtech world keeps me engaged. Collaborating with a team to build impactfulsolutions and shaping user experiences is incredibly rewarding. It's theperfect blend of creativity and problem-solving that I find fulfilling!

What are the values that drive you?

I’m really passionate about creating software that activelyimproves people’s lives. I’m also very concerned with work-life balance andhelping people and projects to work in a way that reduces friction and enhancesoverall well-being.

What is the most exciting part of your job?

Problem solving of course! I think many developers’favourite part of the job is when we get to toy around with a fun problem andfinding an elegant solution to it.

Outside of work, what are you passionate about?

Outside of work, I'm passionate about custom mechanicalkeyboards, especially ergonomic and split designs. Exploring this niche allowsme to blend my love for technology with a touch of personalization. Whilebudget constraints influence my headphone pursuits, I still relish the audioexperience and now have a nice pair of open backs (Sennheiser HD 6XXs) andclosed backs  (my recently obtained Meze99 Neos, sometimes I need some sound isolation) for different situations andaudio sources. Video games are another joy, offering an immersive escape. Thesehobbies provide a well-rounded balance to my life, complementing mytech-centric professional focus.

What’s something about you that not a lot of people know?

I’ve competed in and had some success in competitive gamingtournaments! Back when I lived in South Africa, I participated in a number oflocal tournaments for both Apex Legends and Fortnite – the latter of which wonme the keyboard I used for about 3 years before I moved to the UK. It’s a lotof time and effort to remain competitive though so now I’m back to playinggames relatively casually!

What are your hobbies/ what do you do on the weekends?

Most of my weekends are spent playing either playing videogames with friends or wandering about Aberdeen trying all the local coffeeshops. I’m not eloquent enough to describe coffee like some people can, but Ican definitely drink it!
